Original currency means the currency in which a security trades. It may differ from the currency you used to fund the purchase or the country where the company is based.
When enabled, eligible open holding rows display their latest prices, market values, and supported monetary changes in each security's trading currency. Share counts and percentage changes do not change.
Your portfolio total and main Holdings chart use the portfolio's reporting currency by default. This is the portfolio-specific Currency when one is set, or your Holdings currency otherwise.
For example, if your Holdings currency is EUR, a US-listed holding can display in USD while a euro-listed holding displays in EUR. Your portfolio total remains in EUR by default.
If several currencies are available, select the portfolio total to cycle the aggregate view through those currencies. This is a temporary display choice and does not change your saved Holdings currency.
If original-currency values are unavailable for an item, Stock Events uses the relevant Holdings or Dividends reporting currency.
The setting saves immediately and the Holdings view refreshes.
Turning the setting off returns individual items to the applicable Holdings or Dividends reporting currency. It does not change your shares, saved currency settings, or underlying holdings and dividend records.
