Elco Ltd. is a holding company, which engages in the construction, infrastructure, electric consumer products, real estate, and gas industry. It operates through the following segments: Electra, Electra Consumer Products, Electra Real Estate, Electra Power, and Others. The Electra segment provides services for buildings and infrastructure in Israel and abroad, including installation of centralized air conditioning systems, elevators, security solutions, electric connections, and management and maintenance of assets. The Electra Consumer Products segment deals with the import, manufacture, export, marketing, sale, and distribution of electric consumer products; and the operation of retail marketing chains for selling these products. The Electra Real Estate handles the acquisition, management, and improvement of housing clusters for rent in the United States. The Electra Power segment engages in the marketing, sale, and distribution of liquefied petroleum gas, and in the marketing and sale of natural gas, electricity, and thermal energy. The Others segment includes activities of Discount Investment Corp. and Dream Group. The company was founded by Alexander Salkind in 1949 and is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel.
