As of February 29, 2012, Kinder Morgan Kansas, Inc. was acquired by Kinder Morgan, Inc. Kinder Morgan Kansas, Inc. operates as a private pipeline transportation and storage company in North America. The company operates in six segments: Products Pipelines, Natural Gas Pipelines, CO2, Terminals, Kinder Morgan Canada, and NGPL PipeCo LLC. The Products Pipelines segment engages in the transportation and terminaling of refined petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and natural gas liquids. The Natural Gas Pipelines segment involved in selling, transporting, processing, treating, storing, and gathering natural gas. The CO2 segment produces and sells crude oil from fields in the Permian Basin of West Texas and the transportation and marketing of carbon dioxide used as a flooding medium for recovering crude oil from mature oil fields. The Terminals segment engages in transloading and storing refined petroleum products, as well as dry and liquid bulk products, including coal, petroleum coke, cement, alumina, salt, and other bulk chemicals. The Kinder Morgan Canada segment transports crude oil and refined products from Alberta to marketing terminals and refineries in British Columbia, the state of Washington, and the Rocky Mountains and Central regions of the United States. The NGPL PipeCo LLC segment operates interstate natural gas pipeline and storage system. It owns and operates approximately 37,000 miles of pipelines and approximately 180 terminals. The company was formerly known as Kinder Morgan, Inc. and changed its name to Kinder Morgan Kansas, Inc. in February 2011. Kinder Morgan Kansas, Inc. was founded in 1927 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
