Warsh didn't rule it out, but didn't announce it either. The economic situation is problematic, the budget is a catastrophe, inflation is high... politically, no one can afford a rate hike right now that would directly make an already expensive life even more costly.

politically the Republicans can't afford a rate hike right now. the Democrats they can make hay with this.

right now the US is not affording or making anything. They hiked and it will be ineffective but it is the right decision.

No increase. it’s a back room deal with Warsh not to raise rates. That’s how he got the job. I’d be very surprised if rates change tomorrow.

it's a 12 person vote. there are plenty of people on the committee that don't like trump or his policies. that's why I laughed when he would get mad at powell to change rates. The fed chair has 1 vote. now as the leader he could have influence over some but not all.
