Change your currency

You can choose separate currencies for your Holdings and Dividends views. These are independent display and reporting settings, so changing one does not change the other.

How to change your currency

  1. Open your Profile.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Currencies & Holdings.
  4. Select Holdings or Dividends, depending on which currency you want to change.
  5. Use the Search field or browse the currency list.
  6. Select a currency. Your choice saves immediately and returns you to Currencies & Holdings.

The related values refresh after you make your selection.

What the Holdings currency affects

The Holdings currency converts monetary values across your portfolio, including:

  • Portfolio totals, market value, and cash.
  • Profit and loss and cost basis values.
  • Holdings charts, allocations, forecasts, and other holdings-related amounts.

What the Dividends currency affects

The Dividends currency converts monetary values related to your dividend income, including:

  • Projected and received dividend income.
  • Annual, monthly, and daily totals.
  • Dividend charts, per-position income, forecasts, goals, and other dividend-related amounts.

Changing either currency does not change share counts, percentages, transactions, entered prices, or the original trading and payment currencies. It converts displayed and calculated monetary values without rewriting the underlying records.

Portfolio currency overrides

A portfolio or watchlist can have its own Currency setting. When set, it overrides both your Holdings and Dividends currency defaults for that portfolio.

Select Default for the portfolio currency to use your separate Holdings and Dividends currencies again.

  • Show in original currency displays individual holdings in the currencies they trade in. Your portfolio total continues to use the portfolio currency override when one is set, or your Holdings currency otherwise.
  • Use Local Currency defaults to an asset's currency instead of your Holdings currency when you enter prices. It does not change the Holdings or Dividends reporting currencies.
