Set your dividend goal

A dividend goal is the annual dividend income target for the portfolio or watchlist you currently have selected. Each portfolio or watchlist has its own goal.

To set it, open the Dividends tab, select the portfolio or watchlist you want to update, then select Goal in the dashboard options. Stock Events opens Dividend Analytics at Passive Income Goal.

How to set your dividend goal

1. Open the Dividends tab.
2. Select the portfolio or watchlist whose goal you want to update.
3. In the dashboard options, select Goal. Stock Events opens Dividend Analytics at Passive Income Goal.
4. Select Set Goal.
5. On Goal Annual Dividends, enter your annual target in Goal.
6. Select Save. Your dividend data refreshes and you return to Dividend Analytics.

You can also select Analytics from the Dividends dashboard, scroll to Passive Income Goal, and select Set Goal.

How Stock Events uses your goal

• Annual progress: Dividend Analytics compares the annual dividend amount shown with your target and displays a progress percentage and indicator. The Goal card on the Dividends dashboard also reflects this progress.
• Period equivalents: The annual goal is also shown as monthly, daily, and hourly target amounts.
• Time estimate: Stock Events uses the goal with your separate Future Value assumptions to estimate when the goal may be reached.

Future Value projections use assumptions such as dividend reinvestment, dividend and stock growth rates, and annual contributions. These projections are estimates for educational purposes only.

Setting a goal does not change your holdings, transactions, expected dividend payments, or the underlying dividend calculation.

Portfolio and currency behavior

The goal is saved separately for the selected portfolio or watchlist. Switching to another portfolio can therefore show a different goal.

Enter the goal in the dividend reporting currency used by that portfolio. A portfolio-specific Currency selection takes priority. Otherwise, Stock Events uses your global Dividends reporting currency.

If you change the reporting currency later, Stock Events does not convert the saved goal number automatically. Review and update the goal after changing currency if needed.
