The Harbor High-Yield Bond Fund, Investor Class, primarily allocates at least 80% of its net assets, augmented by any borrowed capital for investment, to a broadly diversified collection of corporate debt instruments. These securities are classified as speculative-grade and high-risk, possessing credit ratings inferior to Baa3 by Moody's or BBB- by S&P or Fitch, and are commonly known as "high-yield" or "junk" bonds. Beyond its core holdings, the fund has the discretion to commit up to 20% of its net assets to bank loans. Furthermore, it may allocate a maximum of 10% of its total assets to equity securities, including common stock. A portion of the portfolio may also be utilized for credit default swaps, with the fund assuming roles as either the buyer or the seller in these agreements.
