It primarily invests in senior, secured floating-rate loans, bank deposits denominated in foreign currencies, debt obligations of foreign governmental and corporate issuers, and mortgage-backed securities. It invests in fixed income securities with an average duration of 1.76 years and an average credit quality of least BBB–. The fund benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the S&P/LSTA Leveraged Loan Index. It was formerly known as Eaton Vance Low Duration Diversified Income Fund.
