Saudi Electricity Company engages in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity to governmental, industrial, agricultural, commercial, and residential consumers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also establishes, leases, manages, and operates electric and fiber optic networks to provide telecommunication services; and offers support services in relation to the issuance of bonds and sukuk, as well as engages in the financing activities. In addition, the company manages construction projects; sets detailed designs; purchases materials; implements projects in the power sector; and provides communications, data transmission, and information technology services to individuals, public, and private institutions. It serves approximately 10.5 million customers. The company was incorporated in 2000 and is headquartered in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
