DigitalTown, Inc. developed a unified platform tailored for both web and mobile access, offering integrated services for search, community engagement, and commercial activities. Known as the DigitalTown platform, it facilitated online and mobile communities by providing tools for content discovery, communication among members, and staying informed. It also offered e-commerce solutions for businesses, along with services for managing deliveries and couriers. Additionally, the platform included comprehensive administrative tools to oversee content, community interactions, and commercial operations. Established in 1982 and based in Bellevue, Washington, the company was initially named BDC Capital Inc. before rebranding as DigitalTown, Inc. in March 2007. The firm faced financial difficulties, filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization on September 8, 2020, which was subsequently converted to a Chapter 7 liquidation on December 13, 2021.
