Its Bracing and Supports segment provides bracing and supports products, such as supporting devices for spinal, hip, knee, foot, ankle, and hands; and injury solutions for people recovering from fractures, need post-operative treatment, and ligament injuries. The Patient Care segment offers prosthetics for people with lower and upper limb loss or limb difference; and orthotics for neurological, gait, and musculoskeletal conditions. It serves specialized healthcare providers, such as orthopedic and prosthetic clinics, hospitals, and surgery centers. It sells its products through its direct sales networks and distributors. The company was formerly known as Össur hf. and changed its name to Embla Medical hf. in April 2024. Embla Medical hf. was incorporated in 1971 and is headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland.
