Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. is a global entity that acquires and manages essential infrastructure assets across North America, South America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region. Its diverse operations are categorized into four primary segments. The Utilities division manages approximately 61,000 kilometers of operational electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure, alongside 5,300 kilometers of electricity transmission lines. It also oversees 4,200 kilometers of natural gas pipelines and provides services to 7.3 million electricity and natural gas connections, in addition to 360,000 long-term contracted sub-metering services. This segment further extends its offerings to include heating and cooling solutions, gas distribution, water heater provisions, and rental services for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units, among other household amenities. Within the Transport segment, the company facilitates the movement, storage, and handling of various merchandise, commodities, and passengers. This is achieved through a vast network comprising roughly 22,000 kilometers of track, an additional 5,500 kilometers of track infrastructure, 4,800 kilometers of railway lines, 3,800 kilometers of motorways, and 13 port terminals. The Midstream operations are dedicated to natural gas transmission, gathering, processing, and storage. Its assets include approximately 15,000 kilometers of natural gas transmission pipelines, storage capacity for 600 billion cubic feet of natural gas, 17 natural gas processing facilities, and 3,900 kilometers of gas gathering pipelines, complemented by a single petrochemical processing complex. Finally, the Data segment encompasses a substantial digital infrastructure footprint. This includes around 148,000 operational telecom towers, 8,000 multi-purpose towers and active rooftop installations, 10,000 kilometers of fiber backbone, 1,600 cell sites coupled with approximately 12,000 kilometers of fiber optic cabling, 2,100 active telecom towers, and 70 distributed antenna systems. The segment also boasts 50 data centers with a critical load capacity of 200 megawatts. Established in 2007, the company maintains its principal executive offices in Hamilton, Bermuda, and operates as a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management Inc.
