Clariant AG is a global specialty chemical company operating through three main segments: Care Chemicals, Catalysis, and Natural Resources. The Care Chemicals segment offers a diverse range of products, including flame retardants, performance additives, and advanced surface solutions for plastics, coatings, inks, and consumer goods. This segment also provides a wide array of industrial and consumer specialty chemicals, serving sectors such as automotive (e.g., brake fluids, coolants), aviation (e.g., de-icing fluids), construction, agriculture, food ingredients, gas treatment, home care, and personal care, alongside specialized solvents and additives for lubricants, paints, and coatings. Additionally, it supplies pigments (organic, inorganic, and anti-corrosive), dyes, and specialty materials for various applications, including coatings, plastics, printing (including digital), textiles, and personal care. The Catalysis segment manufactures catalysts vital for petrochemical and fuel refining, synthesis gas production, general chemical manufacturing, and emissions control, in addition to specialized zeolites and custom catalyst solutions. Within the Natural Resources segment, Clariant provides bentonite-based specialty products utilized across industries such as oil purification, foundries, animal feed, civil engineering, wastewater treatment, paper, detergents, PVC stabilization, BTX catalysis, and jet fuel purification. It also offers oilfield production chemicals to support enhanced oil recovery (EOR), offshore and deepwater operations, conventional and unconventional oil and gas extraction, heavy oil processing, paraffin control, and well services; this is complemented by Veritrax, an intelligent chemical management system. Further offerings include chemical solutions for the entire mining process, additives for refinery services, and the development of biofuels and derivatives, such as sunliquid, which converts agricultural residue into cellulosic ethanol.
