This fund primarily aims to generate a substantial level of current income, while also potentially seeking growth in its capital value. It principally invests in debt instruments, including those considered lower quality, often termed high-yield or junk bonds, due to their below-investment-grade rating. The fund strategically distributes its assets across four broad categories: high-yield securities, U.S. government and other investment-grade fixed income, debt from emerging markets, and securities from developed foreign markets.
