The Fidelity Freedom 2035 Fund maintains a diversified portfolio, allocating capital across a variety of Fidelity's own investment vehicles. These include domestic and international equity funds, fixed-income (bond) funds, and short-term holdings. Its investment approach follows a predefined "glide path," which systematically adjusts the asset allocation over time. This strategy gradually transitions the fund's composition to become more conservative, ultimately aiming to achieve an asset mix comparable to that of the Fidelity Freedom Income Fund. This more stable allocation is expected to be implemented roughly a decade to nineteen years beyond the fund's target date of 2035.
