Typically, this fund commits at least 80% of its overall assets, including any capital acquired through borrowing, to short- and medium-duration debt instruments. These holdings may include corporate debt and various government-issued securities, such as those from government agencies. Furthermore, the fund has the flexibility to dedicate up to 35% of its portfolio to higher-risk, higher-yielding fixed-income securities, often known as "junk bonds."
