The Fund’s investment objective is to generate total return, which is defined as income plus capital appreciation, by establishing long and short investment exposures to Emerging Markets (as defined below) debt pool through currencies, local interest rates, and sovereign and corporate credit, while investing primarily in (i) Fixed Income Securities of corporate, government and government-related issuers Located in Emerging Market countries; and/or (ii) derivative instruments denominated in or based on the currencies, interest rates, or issuers of Emerging Market countries. Fixed Income Securities may include zero coupon bonds, preferred stocks, deferred interest bonds and notes and bonds and notes on which the interest is payable in the form of additional eligible stocks, bonds or notes of the same kind (Payment-in-Kind (PIK) securities).
