The fund's primary objective is to generate comprehensive total returns. Its strategy involves two key components: first, a deliberate allocation of assets to three specific MFS equity funds, known as underlying funds. Second, it employs a dynamic asset allocation overlay, primarily using derivative financial instruments. This overlay is designed to achieve a dual purpose: to reduce the overall volatility of the fund's returns by moderating its exposure to the equity and/or currency markets inherent in the underlying funds, and to potentially open access to distinct asset classes or market segments where the underlying funds have limited or no presence.
