Putnam Income Fund 

This fund principally directs its investments towards fixed-income securities. These encompass securitized debt instruments, such as mortgage-backed securities, alongside other debt obligations issued by corporations and governments across the globe. While the majority of these holdings are denominated in U.S. dollars, a smaller allocation may be in foreign currencies. The portfolio's credit quality spans from investment-grade to below-investment-grade debt, colloquially termed 'junk bonds,' with maturities generally falling within the intermediate to long-term spectrum (three years or more). Additionally, the fund manager frequently makes substantial use of derivatives, including futures, options, and swap contracts, for both risk management (hedging) and pursuing other strategic investment goals.
