The fund primarily invests in a broad array of high-quality, shorter to medium-term fixed-income instruments. These include debt issued by corporations and governments, as well as securities backed by assets and mortgages. It maintains the option to allocate capital to money market instruments, bank-issued obligations, collateralized mortgage obligations, and international securities, even those originating from emerging markets. A fundamental policy dictates that at least 80% of its total net assets, including any leveraged investments, will be held in bonds. Crucially, the portfolio's average effective maturity is generally capped at three years.
