This fund typically allocates a minimum of 80% of its capital to equity-based investments in companies operating in emerging markets. The fund's sub-advisers classify an "emerging market company" as one that is listed or domiciled within these markets, generates over 50% of its revenues or profits from them, or holds more than half of its assets there. The permissible equity holdings for this fund comprise ordinary shares, preference shares, and depositary receipts. While the fund retains the option to invest in companies of any market valuation, its emphasis generally lies with mid- to large-capitalization firms.
