This specific initiative aims to reclaim valuable precious and base metals by re-processing historical slag piles, which are remnants from the smelting of copper ore originally extracted from the United Verde Copper Mine in Jerome, Arizona. Established in 1999, the company was initially known as Phage Genomics, Inc. but rebranded to Searchlight Minerals Corp. in June 2005. Its corporate offices are situated in Henderson, Nevada.
