The Thornburg Investment Income Builder Fund Class R4's primary objective is to generate a current income stream that exceeds the average yield found in U.S. equities. A supplementary aim is to achieve long-term capital growth. To fulfill these investment goals, the fund builds its portfolio using a diverse array of income-generating securities, with a strong emphasis on common stocks and bonds. As a standard practice, at least 80% of its assets will be dedicated to income-producing investments, and typically, a minimum of 50% of its total holdings will be allocated to common stocks.
