Under typical operating conditions, this fund maintains a balanced portfolio, usually committing about 60% of its total value to stock investments. The remaining approximate 40% is allocated to fixed-income instruments. A critical aspect of its strategy is that at least a quarter (25%) of the fund's overall net assets must be invested in senior fixed-income securities. These particular securities are debt obligations that hold a higher priority for repayment if the issuing company were to face bankruptcy or liquidation.
