Hold on until the bitter end or sell beforehand to avoid withholding tax?

I don't think there is a bitter end. although this dip is a bit painful, I'm still gonna keep buying and cost average down

Selling was the better option. The new cost price corresponds to double the return. But the crash was not foreseeable to that extent.

I agree, a bit more than I expected but meh... still gonna buy more, this company is not going anywhere and has some long term vision at play

my sell limit is set, I'm out. double taxation is just too much for me (a little over 50%) 👎🏻

Can you read? I'm mainly talking about double taxation here in good old Germany! I'm still absolutely convinced by the company, but the extremely high taxation is really getting on my nerves and I'm avoiding it by closing my position and investing in another company where I don't have to pay double tax, it's actually quite simple.

You can get 10% back from the Danish tax office.

in Germany, you can get back 15% withholding tax and from Norway, thanks to the double taxation agreement, another 10%. I should also look into how that works this year... If you're from another country, you should also check it out, maybe you can get something back too.

I'm also from Germany and, yes, I've been dealing with this for quite a while, I've even joined an association that makes the tax refund process easier, but still, I just don't feel like dealing with it. I'd rather invest in companies that don't apply withholding tax at all ☺️ TORM, Hafnia etc. 🫡

I can totally see your point. I also have Hafnia, but tell me about TORM? Don't we have to pay 30% WHT as non-US shareholders?
