how is education a parasite?. like i know YOU are not educated but its a sign of a good society to be educated and we saw after COVID, parents are not suitable to teach their own kids given the learning gaps stemming from COVID how is healthcare a parasite? do you not want to be able to see a doctor if you are injured? should we just deny YOU medical care because you don't think its important?

People who don’t believe in education (because they don’t have it) call education and healthcare parasitic because they don’t think it adds to GDP. They see it as a cost centre not a profit centre. But then they have kids. Or get sick. And they realize how important it is to someone in a tough spot to get the help they need. Because it helps them recover and keep their own economy running. There are parasites in our system (bureaucracy as an example) but those who directly work to the explicit benefit of society have value that we all should try to appreciate. it’s not all about a tax cut.
