Escalera Resources Co. operates as an independent entity within the energy sector, focusing its efforts on the exploration, development, production, and sale of both natural gas and crude oil. Its primary operational footprint is concentrated within the various Rocky Mountain basins across the Western United States. The company maintains significant interests in several key energy projects, including the Atlantic Rim coalbed natural gas development situated in south-central Wyoming, and the Pinedale Anticline property within Wyoming's Green River Basin. Beyond these, Escalera also controls acreage with promising exploration potential across Wyoming's broader Green River Basin and Nevada's Huntington Basin. In terms of active operations, Escalera manages 91 producing wells located in Wyoming, alongside one well in Oklahoma. Furthermore, the company extends its services to include the gathering and transportation of natural gas for external parties via its proprietary intrastate pipeline network. As of December 31, 2014, Escalera Resources Co. reported estimated proved reserves totaling 85.8 billion cubic feet of natural gas and 247 thousand barrels of oil. At that time, the company also held ownership interests in approximately 1,200 active producing wells and commanded a substantial land position of 112,219 net acres, predominantly within natural gas-rich basins of the Rocky Mountains. Tracing its origins back to 1972, Escalera Resources Co. is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The company adopted its current name in March 2014, having previously operated as Double Eagle Petroleum Co.
