Its reach spans Japan, North America, Europe, China, Thailand, and other international markets. The company's operations are divided into five principal business segments: Imaging Products, Precision Equipment, Healthcare, Components, and Industrial Metrology and Other activities. The Imaging Products division focuses on consumer and professional photography equipment, including digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras, compact digital cameras, and a variety of interchangeable lenses. The Precision Equipment segment is dedicated to advanced manufacturing tools, specifically Flat Panel Display (FPD) lithography systems and semiconductor lithography systems. Within the Healthcare segment, Nikon provides biological microscopes, cell culture observation systems, and ultra-wide field retinal imaging devices. This segment also extends into contract services for cell development and manufacturing. The Components division manufactures diverse optical components and parts, encoders, and solutions for material processing. It also develops specialized components for Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) technology, space-related applications, and photomask substrates used in FPDs. Lastly, the Industrial Metrology and Others segment delivers industrial microscopes, non-contact three-dimensional (3D) metrology systems, various measuring instruments, X-ray and computed tomography (CT) inspection systems, and surveying equipment. Beyond these core divisions, Nikon's product range encompasses optical lenses, sport optics, various optical glasses (including molded types), camera components, and ophthalmic lenses. The company's services further include the sale of pre-owned equipment; comprehensive maintenance for FPD and semiconductor lithography systems; sales and servicing for its cameras, microscopes, measuring instruments, and X-ray inspection systems; and the development and support of computer software. Additionally, Nikon handles procurement, logistics, and employee welfare activities; offers development, manufacturing, and testing services for cell-based therapeutics; and undertakes the assembly of camera units. Established in 1917, Nikon Corporation maintains its corporate headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
