The Global X Robotics & AI Index ETF (RBOT) provides investors with access to the financial performance of companies specializing in the advancement of robotics and artificial intelligence. A key factor driving this sector's expansion is the substantial reduction in the cost of industrial robots; their average price, which stood at $46,000 in 2010, had dropped to $27,000 by 2017, with projections indicating a further decline below $11,000 by 2025. This trend, fueled by technological innovation and scaling efficiencies, is paving the way for widespread integration across various industries (Statista, Sep 2023). Recognizing that robotics and AI technologies have broad applications well beyond manufacturing, RBOT strategically invests across a diverse range of global sectors. The fund's objective is to closely mirror the returns, net of fees, of the Indxx Global Robotics & Artificial Intelligence Thematic Index, which itself is designed to capture the performance of equity securities issued by companies engaged in robotics and/or artificial intelligence development. Additionally, RBOT consistently hedges the U.S. dollar valuation of its assets back to the Canadian dollar.
