Kolkata, India-based Spencer's Retail Limited, founded in 1863, is a key participant in India's organized retail sector. The company, along with its associated entities, is engaged in establishing, managing, investing in, and promoting retail businesses throughout the country, encompassing both physical and online channels. It operates under various formats, including departmental stores, local neighborhood outlets, and large hypermarkets. Spencer's offers an extensive selection of goods, ranging from groceries, fresh food, and general merchandise to personal care products, clothing and accessories, consumer electronics, and other lifestyle products. These items are sold under its exclusive brands like Smart Choice, Tasty Wonders, Clean Home, and Maroon, as well as several private labels such as 2Bme, Healthy Alternatives, Hands on, and Inscapes. By March 31, 2022, the company managed 154 stores. Its current name, Spencer's Retail Limited, was adopted in December 2018, having previously operated as RP-SG Retail Limited.
