Established in Denver, Colorado, in 2004, ViewRay, Inc. specialized in the creation, production, and international marketing of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided radiation therapy systems. These innovative systems were designed to facilitate the precise imaging and treatment of cancer patients across various global markets, including the United States, Italy, France, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. The company's key offering, MRIdian, was an MRI-guided radiation therapy solution developed to address common issues such as beam distortion and skin toxicity during treatment. ViewRay distributed its products to a broad range of healthcare providers, including university research and teaching hospitals, community hospitals, private practices, government institutions, and dedicated cancer centers, utilizing both its own sales force and a network of distributors. However, ViewRay, Inc. initiated a voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization on July 16, 2023, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, which was subsequently converted to a Chapter 7 liquidation on October 26, 2023.
