SHUS is a risk-hedged version of the Stratified LargeCap Index ETF (ticker: SSPY-US), a passively managed fund that reweights S&P 500 Index constituents to diversify business risk. SSPYs index uses a proprietary stratified weighting methodology, grouping companies based on shared business functions, such as common suppliers, customers, or competitors, and redistributing their weight to reduce concentration risk. This provides more balanced exposure across large-cap stocks compared to traditional market-cap-weighted funds. Rebalanced quarterly, the index includes 500 components from all eight industry sectors. SHUS also employs option spread strategies to hedge equity risk and enhance returns in flat or declining markets. On September 27, 2024, the fund acquired all assets and liabilities of the Syntax Stratified U.S. Total Market Hedged ETF (ticker: SHUS), which had about $32.3 million in assets.
