DTE Energy Company operates as a diverse energy enterprise, focusing on the development and management of various energy-related businesses and services. Its operations are structured into five key divisions: Electric, Gas, DTE Vantage, Energy Trading, and Corporate and Other. The Electric division is responsible for generating, acquiring, distributing, and selling electricity to residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout southeastern Michigan. The Gas division oversees the procurement, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale of natural gas to homes, businesses, and industrial clients across Michigan, in addition to selling storage and transportation capacity. DTE Vantage concentrates on initiatives that supply energy and utility-like products and services to industrial, commercial, and institutional customers. This segment also produces fuel with reduced emissions and markets electricity and pipeline-grade gas sourced from renewable energy projects. The Energy Trading division manages the company's energy marketing and trading activities. Lastly, the Corporate and Other segment encompasses various holding company responsibilities, manages certain non-utility debt and investments, and allocates funds towards regional development and economic expansion initiatives. Founded in January 1995, the company's headquarters are located in Detroit, Michigan.
